CIAT/IOTA Tax Summit on Digital Economy

The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) and the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) joined efforts and resources to address an issue of common interest and provided the opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities tax administrations around the world are facing in the digital era. The CIAT/IOTA Tax Summit on Digital Economy brought together more than 300 participants from 80 countries and is the first major joint event organised by members of the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO). During the round table discussion on “International Cooperation of Regional Tax Organisations”, ITC advisor Sarah Adelberger described the main areas of activity of the Network of Tax Organisations, introduced the modalities of cooperation within the network and touched upon how to successfully balance broad participation and involvement with effective implementation of NTO activities.
